March 28th 2009: "March for Equality"

March for Equality was an event that was put together by C.A.R.E. president/ founder Christopher Hall before C.A.R.E. was ever established. It was the first LGBTQ event in the city of Casa Grande. The number in attendance ranged anywhere from 150-250 individuals. The following pictures and videos were put together from the event:

April 30th 2009: "Dining Out for Life"

On Thursday April 30th 2009, Cold Stone Creamery donated 25% of what they had raised to help fight both HIV and AIDS. This was not a C.A.R.E. event, but we helped in the cause by publicizing the event and attending as well. The following pictures below captured some of the most captivating moments of the night:

May 16th 2009: Right to Save Rally

Gay men are not allowed to give blood due to an FDA policy that was put into place back in 1983. Central Arizona Rainbow Equality (C.A.R.E.) joined in this nationwide issue by hosting an event in Casa Grande. The event was well recieved as people from the community stopped to recieve more information on the issue. They also were given paperwork on C.A.R.E. and now have a network that they are aware of and people within those networks to turn to. Below are a few pictures from the event:

May 22nd 2009: Harvey Milk Candle Light Vigil

On May 22nd 2009, Harvey Milk would have turned 79 years old. Sadly in 1978 his life would be cut short. It is not how this man died that remains important; rather, it was the way he lived that had made all the difference in the world. Central Arizona Rainbow Equality had recognized Harvey Milk and his accomplishments at the event by passing out flyers to individuals who walked by with information on who he was and what he had accomplished for the LGBT community. They also held signs in honor of Harvey for those who were driving by in vehicles. The night was concluded with a moment of silence and a candle light vigil. Overall, history was made for Florence, AZ. This event was their first LGBT event, but it will not be their last. Below are some pictures from the event:

June 27th 2009: Dinner with C.A.R.E. and St. Michael's

On Saturday June 27th 2009, Central Arizona Rainbow Equality and St. Michael and All Angels Liberal Catholic Cathedral had hosted a potluck. This event gave individuals the opportunity to network with one another and meet new friends who are of the lgbt community and those who support them.

September 22nd and September 23rd 2009: Mini Rally Celebration

Casa Grande's Mayor, Bob Jackson, had recently recognized national coming out day on September 10th. It was our goal to publicize this major accomplishment and to make sure it did not go unrecognized. We spent a day creating posters prior to the small march and then a night actually demonstrating for the cause that we so truly believe in. The purpose of the rally was to celebrate the accomplishments in which we have made while not forgetting issues that still need to be addressed. Some of the pictures below captivate both the nights.

October 13th 2009: LGBT Panel Discussion

This event was not an event sponsored by Central Arizona Rainbow Equality, but President/ Founder Christopher Hall helped facilitate and coordinate the entire event. Approximately 50-75 different spectators were present during the event. Below are a few pictures that caught some of the most captivating moments of the night. Central Arizona Rainbow Equality hopes to host a similar panel sometime in the near and upcoming future.
